Drug-Free Workplace
Kush Gardens is committed to a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all employees that is free from the effects of substance abuse during business operations. Although Kush Gardens is a retail cannabis dispensary and employees may consume related products, consumption of cannabis, alcohol, other controlled substance, or abuse of any other substance is strictly prohibited while performing work-related duties; further, Kush Gardens prohibits the unauthorized or unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, or use of a controlled substance while on Company premises or conducting Company business. Obvious intoxication before and during work-related duties and other associated violations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Employee Polygraph Protection Act
The Employee Polygraph Protection Act prohibits most private employers from using lie detector tests either for pre-employment screening or during the course of employment. The law does not apply to tests given by the Federal Government to certain private individuals engaged in National Security-related activities. Kush Gardens does not provide contractual services to the Federal Government that are National Security-related, therefore no requirement is necessary for a polygraph test to be administered to any applicant or employee hired.
